Son of Tonight (aka Tonight Part 2)

We are going to see this and ...

this. I can't wait. I need a funny movie after a scary movie or I just can't sleep at night.

I bought our tickets online yesterday. The Happening opens tonight and I was worried about lines. Although during Siff, the big box office movies don't seem all that popular.

Have a great Friday night. Hugs. xox=vv.

Tonight.

We are going to see this.

[Update]

We also saw this.

Both were great! The fall was a delight. Easy to grasp (don't believe the reviews) and Cantinca Untaru was pure charm. Priceless was a nice surprise. Toss-in some fabulous sushi and a tiny show house and the evening was terrific.

I hope yours was too. Hugs. xox=vv.

Taking Up A Collection.

This is our collection of Jason Munn Screenprints. I fell in love with The Small Stakes a couple years ago and introduced Simon to his work this September at Bumbershoot's Flatstock. We picked these out and had them wrapped up a few minutes after we found his booth.

We tried to restrain ourselves since we only have 500 square feet of wall space. I think we did pretty well. What do you think? Hugs. xox=vv.

Thanks For Everything.

These are our fathers. Both of these men are incredible. One has moved on and is now only with us in spirit and one has simply moved to far away.

Oh sure I left the state first, but I choose to believe that it did not count, because I did not leave the time zone. I know you might disagree about who is at fault here, but if there is one thing I inherited from my father it is his stubbornness, so you might as well save your breathe!

We love you Dad. Thanks for everything.

The Aerialistas.

So, of course, I have a million a half things to tell you. I will start here, with the Aerialistas. As I promised in my last post, I present you with cheerleaders climbing ropes to do aerial feats of wonder in an airplane hanger as the half time entertainment at the last Rat City Rollergirls bout! They were totally incredible and if you ever have the chance to see them perform (they are not always dressed as cheerleaders), I highly recommend it. There is not a whole lot out there that can compete with the sheer wonder that is the roller derby, but this came awfully close!

There is a lot more news coming. I have a relatively mind-boggling amount of projects on-the-go and fun news to share with you. I will be working to catch up with blogs and e-mails today and maybe every subsequent day for the next week. You have all been busy!

Awww ... Disappointment.

So Saturday night was bout 2 of the roller derby season here. My favorite team the Derby Liberation Front won their bout even without the incredible jammer #16 Burnett Down as she was out with an injury. She still got into the best fight of the night with a Sockit Wench and thus secured my total girl crush on this bad ass beauty!

Here is where my disappointment begins. Sunday night a fundraising skate at the local rink was planned. We were all set to go. I asked hubby for a new pair of skates and a skate-date quite a long time ago and well really I just kept putting them aside. This, however, was my chance. I would not only get my new skates and my skate night but I would also get to skate in the presence of the totally awesome Ratcity Rollergirls! Be still my beating heart. However on Sunday Si really wasn’t feeling so great and in the end either was I so we did not go. Now I really am crushed!

Anyway ... here are this weeks Panty O’ Scopes if you are wearing:

Red Panties- Today a new relationship may be severely affected based on whether or not you remembered to brush your hair.

Orange Panties- Today a friend will ask a favor. Whatever it is don’t do it! Well, unless you really really still want to be friends, then I guess maybe it’s okay.

Yellow Panties- Today you will find inspiration is everywhere (no really ... you’ve got some stuck to the bottom of your shoe).

Green Panties- Today you will want to skip around and gather flowers, but trust me you really should put some clothes on first.

Blue Panties- Today you will discover that you need more details. “What kind of details?” you ask. Oh sheesh.

Purple Panties- Today you will find your inner child and realize they might need to stay away from the sugar.

Black, Brown or White Panties- Today you will find yourself bored, but in an exciting sort of way.

Floral or Patterned Panties- Today your plans may be ruined by unexpected things, which of course, will go very smoothly.

Please do not forget to add the words “in bed” if you are wearing lace panties. Also please do not feel any pressure to wear the same color or heaven forbid the same panties for an entire week. These will apply to any day of the week. Please do not forget the Random Panty Color Generator when you are deciding which color might be best for you!

Happy Friggin Birthday.

My beautiful precious vegasandvenice.com celebrated it’s very first birthday this week. I wanted to do something special, something nice, something well ... celebratory. So I put together this little party.

Next, I turned my attention to birthday presents. I wanted to buy lots of gifts. I was thinking of clothes, but what size jumper does a one year old domain name wear? I thought of sweet stuffed animals, but I wondered what kind of creature would a domain name like to cuddle. Do domain names even know how to cuddle?

Perhaps in the end I got a little disenchanted with the whole idea, this entire domain name birthday thing became a little bit more difficult than I planned. This whole party was hand assembled from the chandelier, to the framed panties, to the paper birthday cake (real cake has way to many calories, and for some reason it does not taste as good 3 weeks and 6 days after it has been on display). Honestly though, I gave up all together. What’s in the boxes you ask? Nothing. She won’t know. She is only one year old for goodness sakes. She’ll probably just want to play with the boxes anyway.

So happy friggin birthday... I mean happy birthday vegasandvenice.com. I need a break!

Now With 100% More Abigail!

I wanted Mamma’s approval before I unleashed this much beauty into the free world! She quickly agreed, thank goodness! I mean really it would be cruel to keep this much beauty all to ourselves! Abigail was born on April 8, 2006 at 11:14 p.m. She weighed 7 pounds 14 ounces and she was 18.5 inches long!

Warning: The beautiful baby above is represented via photograph. This is not the real Abigail and attempting to nibble her cheeks is not recommended as it may cause damage to you and your computer!

Let’s Bring It All Down A Little.

Okay, today we have to get serious (just this once I promise, until the next time I need to be serious, of course. I don’t know when that will be. Sometimes I am in a serious mood, sometimes I am not. It just depends. You know like nuts in your chocolate, one time one way , the next time the next. Ooooh... speaking of chocolate, have you tried this Haute chocolat for Vosges? Hmmm, yummy with strawberries... or rice. My point is that it is very good. Oh, wait ... my point. Did I get off track? I think I did. Where were we? Oh yeah...) really, we need to get serious! Sheesh! You guys! It’s tough to keep your attention for very long *wink*.

Yesterday was my Grandfather’s birthday !! He turned 80 and that is very exciting. My family celebrated with a huge party for him over the weekend. Sadly, because of our current non-local location, we could not join in the hoopla!

I wanted to make him something special though, so I painted this. There was a somewhat interesting disaster when my green tube of paint (which apparently was broken when I bought it, darn) leaked all over my bag and this canvas. It did come out the way I planned though. I hope it is masculine, but clean, simple and understated (I know that doesn’t necessarily make it good though). Above is the fixed-up and finished product.

Of course, I was going to just pick a random item to paint (you know old shoe, floss, whatever) but then I thought “why not paint something meaningful?” When I was a little girl, my grandfather used to wheel me around in his wheelbarrow to do the gardening! We both wore bandanas and I think I may have joined a gang. It was lots of fun! We always shared this special memory. Thanks for letting me share it with you too.

Okay, thats all, I promise. You may commence your wild revelry till the next time we need to get serious again!

Burnett Down with D-Bomb.

Do you think that the very second I typed out the title of this page a super secret presidential ninja (more on ninjas tomorrow) landed by helicopter on to my roof and repelled into my living room to tap my phone?

Well, that would be a serious waste of a ninjas precious time, since I am not planning any kind of attack upon our nation but rather introducing you to my favorite rollergirls. The smokin girl in the picture above is Burnett Down #16 of the Rat City Rollergirl’s team, Derby Liberation Front. Although with her on the track as star jammer and D-Bomb #8 as blocker you should probably call a medic anyway! D-Bomb, an adorable little, curly haired blonde, did not miss a single opportunity to send her opponent rolling uncontrollably off the track and into the thrillingly unprotected audience. Brawls on wheels and quiet moments in the penalty box were soon to follow. Also to follow? My undying admiration for these two roller heroes, my sudden desire to try strapping a device of torture to my legs again, and of course a sizable increase in my ever-present distrust of ninjas.

Calling Him “Rat Bastard” Just Got Even Sweeter.

Who would not want to celebrate their fifth year of marriage, I can only hope, with a healthy amount of kicking, screaming, punching and biting?

Nothing could possibly be better than a romantic evening with the Rat City Rollergirls at their Charity Brawl & Exhibition Bout.

Next Year I Could Use An Anchor.

Well, we had a lovely evening at our favorite little tea shop. They have an annual candle light dinner with fabulous food and enough beverages to require that flotation devices be placed beneath each seat.

Oh, and soon I will let you in on a very passionate and unnatural love affair which I can not deny.
